The Brno Veterinary and Pharmaceutical University (VFU Brno) is divided into three faculties – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Hygiene and Ecology and Pharmaceutical Faculty. It is the only educational institution in the Czech Republic to provide the complete veterinary medical education by means of two veterinary faculties. This fact corresponds with annual frequent extensive interest of applicants that highly exceeds teaching capacity. The position of the Pharmaceutical Faculty is the same. This faculty, in cooperation with Pharmaceutical Faculty in Hradec Králové, provides optimum qualification in the branch of medications and pharmaceuticals necessary for prevention, diagnostics and treatment of diseases, eventually to influence physiologic human and animal functions. We can see increasing number of foreign students, namely from Slovakia. The VFU Brno is also responsible for qualified practice in the course of studie.
